PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE OF LIGHT GUIDE RETAINING POLARIZATION OF OPTICAL RADIATION FOR SPLITTER

FIELD: fiber optics, fiber-optical pickups of physical quantities, fiber-optical gyros. SUBSTANCE: preform of light guide containing light guiding core, reflecting sheath, two loading bars and external protective jacket is utilized in process. Preform is so polished on two opposite sides that polishing planes are parallel to plane passing in preform through center of core and centers of bars and are positioned at certain distance from center of core. Light guide is drawn from preform in furnace at temperature securing preservation of cross-section form of light guide corresponding to form of cross-section of preform. EFFECT: reduced loss of optical power, improved polarization characteristics. 4 dwg
