Zusammenfassung:FIELD: nondestructive determination presence of fissionable materials in articles with stable composition. SUBSTANCE: sources of neutrons in proposed detector comprise neutron generator, sealed capsule and copper reflector. Neutron generator has form of ring with 280.0 mm outer diameter and 100.0 mm inner diameter, it is made up of americium deposited in thin layer on nickel backing snugly fitted against metallic lithium 1.0 mm thick. Neutron generator is enclosed in sealed metal capsule 286.0 mm in diameter and 31.0 mm in height. Smooth surface of capsule is working surface of source, copper reflector is screwed to nonworking side of source. Both sources are confined in polyethylene shell 130 mm high and 318. mm in diameter. Distance from working surface of source to polyethylene is 20.0 mm. Polyethylene shell is surrounded by cadmium sheet and carries separable cadmium covers. EFFECT: expanded functional potential of detector establishing presence of fissionable materials in large-sized articles. 3 dwg
