Zusammenfassung:FIELD: processes and equipment for rolling merchant bars, possibly in continuous, semicontinuous and tandem mills for rolling H-sections, mainly wide-flange beams. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of cutting rectangular billet in two cutting roll grooved passes; further rolling of cut section in straight horisontal and universal beam grooved passes; cutting rectangular blank alternatively at first from one side, for example at upper side and then at other lower side; determining height of cutting ridge and bottom width of grooved pass with ridge according to relations: Hr = (0,101/0,191).Dm-deltah, Bbw = B0-2.Hr.tg where Hr - height of cutting ridge; Bbw - bottom width of grooved pass with ridge; Dm - mean diameter of rolls; deltah - reduction degree of flanges while taking shrinkage into account ; B in - width of initial blank; tg - slope of lateral walls of grooved pass. EFFECT: enhanced conditions for biting blank, improved quality of cut rough section and ready H-beam, especially at rolling H-beams with high flanges. 4 dwg
