Food supplement comprises nicotinic acid and dried defibrinated blood of Siberian stag, Manchurian wapiti or sika deer in the following ratio of components, %: defibrinated Siberian stag, 99.0-1.0; nicotinic acid, 1.0-99.0. Method of treatment involves prescription of dietotherapy of the proposed agent in the dose 1 capsule, 3 times per a day, for 21 days. Invention expands assortment of agents eliciting antihyperlipoproteinemic activity, enhancement of treatment effectiveness and reduction of adverse effects.
