Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for producing magnesium from magnesium chloride solutions obtained either by leaching of oxygen-containing raw material or lake solutions, or by underground leaching of chloride-magnesium salts. Magnesium and chlorine production process involves processing of magnesium chloride solutions utilizing ammonia compounds after purification, dehydration, isolation of anhydrous magnesium chloride, and electrolytic decomposition of the latter into magnesium and chlorine. In particular, magnesium chloride solution, purified in absorbers, is saturated with ammonia and hydrogen chloride; salt solution in adsorbers is heated to 85-120 C and concentrated to water content 55-65%, whereupon solution is fed into fluidized- bed heater to form dehydrated ammonium carnallite, which is then decomposed into anhydrous magnesium chloride, ammonia, and hydrogen chloride. The two latter are fed together with leaving gases into absorbers and magnesium chloride is subjected to electrolysis. EFFECT: reduced expenses on processing of magnesium chloride and ammonium chloride solutions due eliminated redistribution in evaporation of solutions and crystallization of ammonium carnallite. 8 cl, 1 dwg, 2 ex |
