SUBSTANCE: electron beam is mainly characterized in specific geometry of forming electrode made in the form of incomplete side surface of circular cylinder with guide in the form of arc set at definite angle. Forming electrode radius is chosen depending on mentioned angle, width of suppressor grid, distance between suppressor and control grids, and distance between control grid and cathode. Cathode is aligned with forming electrode axis, open part of this electrode facing output aperture. EFFECT: enhanced stability, reliability, and service life of electron source. 2 dwg |
