DEVICE FOR PREVENTION OF PENETRATION OF POWDER GASES FROM GUN BARREL TO FIGHTING COMPARTMENT

FIELD: military equipment, in particular, means for protection of the crew against powder gases. SUBSTANCE: gun mount breechblock is made as a spring-loaded damper hinge-joined to a lever. A safety membrane is installed in the middle part of the damper, the membrane diameter is less than the diameter of the shell fuze. The lever is hinge-mounted on the axle installed in the body rigidly coupled to the gun guard. A torsion spring is located along the axle, its one end is connected to the lever, and the other - to a dog rigidly secured on the axle and engageable with the lever tooth. The spring is installed for compression in the axial direction. A head with flats is made on the axle that is engageable with a switch fastened on the guard, and a gear is hinge-mounted, that has a screw lug boss engageable in the axial direction with the mating screw surface of a catch, which is rigidly fasten on the axle. The gear is engaged through an idler wheel with a spring-loaded cam that is hinge-mounted in the body and is engageable with the gun breech.
