METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF COMPOSITE ARTICLES

FIELD: chemistry and metallurgy, means for manufacture of abrasive and frictional articles. SUBSTANCE: one or several blanks of compacted mix of carbonic fibre and pitch are placed inside the shell for the time of calcination, the shell is made of material and has dimensions providing for limitation of deformation of the surfaces and variation of the blank dimensions, as well as for isolation of the blank from environment for the period of calcination. The method comprises formation of the starting compound by mixing of carbonic fibre with pitch, moulding of the blank by means of volumetric compaction of the starting compound and calcination of the blank. At placement in the closed shell at least of two blanks a spacer is installed between the surfaces of the adjacent blanks, the spacer is made of material, which does not exert physico-chemical action on carbon fibre and pitch in the process of calcination. EFFECT: simplified procedure and enhanced production of articles with provision of the precision of blank dimensions with maximum approximation to the dimensions of the finished article. 4 cl, 1 dwg
