Zusammenfassung:FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to gear and method measuring level of surface of molten metal in electromagnetic process of continuous casting with the use of A C electromagnetic field. Detection coil is formed to determine sum of magnetic field created by induction coil and of induced magnetic field based on eddy current in molten metal. Arithmetic unit is created to find surface level of molten metal by removal of change of applied magnetic field caused by change of current supplied to induction coil from output signal of detection coil. Change of output signal of detection coil which is outcome of change of applied magnetic field or change of surface level of molten metal is employed to measure surface level of molten metal. EFFECT: raised measurement accuracy of level of surface of molten metal, increased quality of surface of cast product, reduced duration of process of manufacture of products made of steel, saving of energy. 9 cl, 5 dwg
