SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to production of rapidly hardening opal-cristobalite (opoka, diatomite, Tripoli powder, etc) binding agents for manufacturing articles from fibrous and noncoherent heat-insulation materials involving compaction technique. Rock is first ground in a liquid medium while simultaneously leaching amorphous silica by adding lime-containing component, for example lime milk or Portland cement in amounts providing formation of 10-30% of calcium hydrosilicate of the weight of amorphous silica. EFFECT: improved strength characteristics of binding agent and products. |
