METHOD FOR PREPARING ROLLING ROLL OF SHEET ROLLING STAND FOR OPERATION

rolled stock production, possibly preparation and exploitation of rolling rolls of four-high stands for cold rolling and skin pass rolling. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of grinding roll barrel by means of abrasive disc and subsequent electric-erosion knurling of it by electric current pulses passed between rotated roll and metallic electrode placed in dielectric liquid. Roll barrel is ground until roughness degree Ra of roll surface equal to (0.4-1.2) micrometer; electric current pulse duty ratio is set 2.2-2.5 at voltage of pulse (4-10)V. Revolution number of roll is sustained in range (0.2-0.4) 1/s. It is possible to realize variant of method according to which electric-erosion knurling is performed at using split electrode consisting of copper rods placed by two rows in staggered fashion. At knurling process electrode is moved along roll barrel at rate (0.05-0.07) m/min. EFFECT: strengthening of roll surface at simultaneously achieving its optimal roughness degree. 1 tbl
