SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorbents for trapping hydrogen fluoride or metal (uranium, tungsten, molybdenum, etc. ) fluorides, which can be used for treatment of emission gases or for separation of fluoride-containing gas mixtures. Method includes preparing charge from sodium bifluoride and water at molar ratio (92-96):(4-8), tableting, drying of tablets, and caking at 250-280 C (to trap hydrogen fluoride) or at 480-550 C (to trap metal fluorides). EFFECT: increased strength, porosity, and specific surface of sorbent. 3 cl, 2 tbl
