SUBSTANCE: the method consists in successive stepped attenuation of the flux of X-radiation by one and the same fixed value relative to the level of attenuation of the of the previous step with the aid of an n-stepped element made of material absorbing the x-radiation, before each stepped attenuation of the flux of x-radiation a complete overlap of it is accomplished. The value of variation of the electric signal averaged for each step of attenuation of the flux of x-radiation corresponding to each stepped variation is measured, and the limit of the range of variation of the value of attenuation of the x-radiation flux at which the preset difference of intensity in the X-ray image is observed is judged by the minimum and maximum values of attenuation of the x-radiation flux, for which the value of variation of the averaged electric signal at a stepped attenuation of the x-radiation flux will be not lower than the threshold value.
