Zusammenfassung: | nuclear power engineering; pre-disposal treatment of radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: process includes preparation of exothermal mixture of aluminum, iron-containing oxide in amount sufficient to produce iron base melt and to completely immobilize radioactive wastes within hardened metal, and up to 10 mass percent of river sand. Exothermal mixture is placed in reactor above radioactive wastes. The latter may be in powdered form or in fragments whose size does not exceed inner dimensions of container. Mixture burning reaction is initiated under conditions of self-spreading high-temperature fusion. Enriched iron-containing ore may be used as iron- containing oxide. Exothermal mixture may be additionally doped with oxides of following metals: Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ta, W, Re; they may be used in individual form or as part of ore concentrates in amount of up to 30 mass percent. Self-spreading high-temperature fusion process may be conducted in enclosed space at neutral gas pressure of up to 5 MPa. EFFECT: facilitated procedure; improved safety of immobilization process. 4 cl, 3 ex |
