Indicated compound provides to broaden the spectrum of substances which are able to carry out the reaction of dismutation of O2 and they can be used as antioxidants in biology, microbiology and medicine. Invention describes also method of synthesis of said compound that involves the interaction of para-benzoquinone with sodium thiosulfate in an aqueous medium in the mole ratio of components from 3:1 to 10:1.
