Zusammenfassung: | applied radiochemistry; labeled compounds; radioactive isotopes for beta- radiation sources. SUBSTANCE: calcium nitrate cleaned from impurities is melted at temperature of 500- 510 C and pressure of 0.2-0.5 MPa in nitric oxide environment. Lumps of molten material are placed in container so that part of its space is left vacant. Upon irradiation in neutron flux container cover is pricked and nitric acid is dosed through holes thus formed to dissolve irradiated material at the same time heating container to 150-200 C. Gaseous compounds of carbon-14 are periodically blown out of container and conveyed for recovery. Device implementing this method has metal container and cover with depressions on opposite ends. Container accommodates tube arranged therein through entire height and used to feed nitric acid; it is connected through sealed joint to one of cover depressions. Other depression is designed to discharge gaseous products containing carbon- 14 from container. One more hole is pricked in container cover at depression point to discharge gases produced in the process. EFFECT: enhanced output of high isotope purity carbon-14; reduced amount of radioactive wastes; facilitated procedure. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl |
