Zusammenfassung:construction engineering; bearing beams and posts. SUBSTANCE: post-beam has I-section metal insert installed in wood case whose halves are joined by means of transversal tubular dowel pins. Metal insert is heightwise composite structure assembled of solid T-shaped members symmetrically arranged relative to horizontal axis that form ends of walls and insert flanges; thin sheet wall is welded to the latter. Inner surface of each half of wood case has its cross- sectional area congruous to half the sectional area of I-section metal insert. Transversal tubular dowel pins are passed through wood case halves and metal insert wall. Wood case halves and metal insert are joined together by means of adhesive. Ends of tubular dowel pins and those of metal insert are closed by wood plugs. All of wood parts are treated with fire-retardant additive and preservative and covered with water-repellent solution; metal insert is covered with polyxyloxane base modifier. Two steel plates are welded at ends of thin sheet wall on its two sides lengthwise of wall; mentioned plates are protruding beyond wood case and their ends are welded to forged steel member provided with two vertical through holes.
