Zusammenfassung:chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing modified polysaccharide-containing products by treating starch-containing stock with alkali in the presence of cuprous salt and water under aeration, stirring and heating conditions. Starch-containing stock is vegetable stock. Prior to treatment operation, aqueous catalyst solution is first prepared, stock and catalyst are then stirred and heated, and alkali is added after temperature of 70-75 C is reached, and treatment is carried out till desired value of viscosity is attained. Method is reproducible and stable with respect to time. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method.
