Zusammenfassung:	metallurgy, particularly, continuous casting plants; applicable in furnace units for heating and temperature stabilization of melt. SUBSTANCE: intermediate vessel has bottom with bottom electrode and metal taphole, lined side walls, cover and DC arc device. Cover consists of dome and side walls and has hole for melt pouring. DC arc device is made in the form of electrode and electrode holder with current leads running inside vessel through bushing unit and connected with mechanism of longitudinal motion which is located outside of intermediate vessel. Electrode is secured at an angle to electrode holder connected with mechanism of turning of electrode holder round its longitudinal axis. Bushing unit is located in side wall of intermediate vessel. EFFECT: uniform heating of large quantity of melt over its surface and possibility of location of equipment on vessel side wall. 3 c;, 1 dwg
