SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming reaction volume of melt on base of metal fluorides; applying electric current to melt; loading burden containing aluminium oxide; reducing aluminium and removing it out of reaction volume. Alternating electric current is applied to melt. Aluminium is reduced at temperature 1000-1100 C while using carbon of graphite electrodes as reducing agent. Cryolite is used as metal fluorides.
