Zusammenfassung:manufacture of cellular members used, mainly, as catalyst carrier bodies in systems of discharge of effluent gases of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: cellular member is assembled into package and/or rolled in roll from metal sheets with high corrosion and heat resistance and having on separate sections at least structure forming channels to pass fluid medium. Used two types of metal sheets are different in structure. Metal sheets of one type are made, mainly, of homogeneous steel containing at least chrome and aluminum. Metal sheets of the other type have multilayer structure including at least one layer of steel containing chrome and at least the second layer containing, mainly, aluminum. Metal sheets are joined with each other by heat treatment. Metal sheets with multilayer structure undergo homogenization due to diffusion. EFFECT: manufacture of cellular member including those of large diameters exceeding 90 mm, featuring high quality and low cost. 10 cl, 3 dwg
