SUBSTANCE: method is designed for making roofing sheet of cast iron made by melting and continuously casting in rolls-crystallizers for producing band and sheet subjected to subsequent heat treatment. Ready cast iron sheet has thickness 0.7-1.2 mm. Cast iron is melt in electric arc furnace from solid burden containing (mass%): cast iron (25-50); metallic concentrate (35-60); runners and recovered material- (2-10); ferromanganese (0.1-10); scrap steel or ferrosilicium -(2.5-10). Cast iron includes (mass%): carbon (2.8-3.7); silicium (2.2-2.6); manganese (0.3-0.7); nickel (0.005-0.5); chrome (0.05-0.13); copper (0.01-2.5); phosphorus- up to 0.15; sulfur - up to 0.10, ferrum - the balance. Plant for making roofing sheet includes melting aggregate, metering and pouring apparatus, rolls-crystallizers, disc shears for cutting edges, rolling stand for corrugating, rocking type pressing shears, screw-type packing apparatus for feeding metal to furnace and furnace for heat treatment.
