SUBSTANCE: heater designed to heat up fuel-air mixture has cooling housing made of heat and electricity conducting material and provided with central slotted cavity and plate fins arranged around central cavity, as well as rod-structure electric heating element within central cavity. At least one flat surface of plate fins bears secondary fins in the form of oblong ridges, minimum 1.5-3 mm high. Outline of plate fins is made so that it follows that of central-cavity cross-section. Length of plate fins in longitudinal section of heating device increases from cooler top to its base. EFFECT: improved efficiency of heat transfer from device housing to fuel. 3 dwg
