Zusammenfassung:	agriculture. SUBSTANCE: machine has rolls arranged in pairs for rotation in opposite directions. Axes of rolls are oriented in parallel with feeding direction, perpendicular and crosswise with respect to root and rootstock axes. Upper roll in each pair of rolls positioned one above the other is made in the form of catenoid and lower roll is made barrel-shaped. Generatrices of surfaces of rotation of rolls are defined by single-type chain line. Mechanism for simultaneous feeding and rotating roots around axes is positioned between pairs of rolls and is made in the form of endless conveyor mounted above working table. Table surface in feeding direction is made straight and is extending in parallel with root axes. Table surface is movable along guide formed as chain line. Such construction allows cork and bast fibers to be effectively removed from woody part of licorice root. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of cleaned surface of licorice root. 25 cl, 19 dwg
