SUBSTANCE: friction unit includes friction member made from polymer friction composite material having microporous structure with interconnected micropores. Composite material contains additionally dispersed particles made from material liable to swelling at interaction with water separating into particles whose sizes are comparable with sizes of pores. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of braking during operation under moist conditions due to reduced ability of water sorption at retained microporous structure of friction member.
