Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in open-hearth process for steel treatment in ladle. SUBSTANCE: method includes tapping of steel into ladle, addition of solid material for protection of metal surface. Solid material is used in the form of open-hearth slag subjected to silicate decomposition in the amount of 3-12 kg/t of steel and introduced just after beginning of its filling with steel. The method allows protection of steel surface in casting ladle from contact with air during the entire period of ladle filling. EFFECT: reduced losses of metal and ferroalloys and heat, decreased content of harmful impurities in steel, reduced consumption of ferroalloys and aluminum introduced for steel treatment, and increased quality of steel. 1 ex
