ELECTROLYZER FOR PRODUCTION OF LITHIUM

FIELD: production of alkali metals by electrolysis of molten salts; applicable in commercial production of lithium. SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer cathodes are provided with a system of trays collecting and conveying lithium inside electrolyzer, gas separator to preclude chloride from getting into collector and to reduce getting of hydrogen from 3-8 l to less than 0.02 l/h kA of current load. Absence of need of intensive blowing of collector with argon makes it possible to produce lithium with nitrogen content of less than 1.10-4% wt.%. EFFECT: higher efficiency and safety of electrolyzer operation. 3 dwg
