SUBSTANCE: method for mounting rolling rolls in quarto stand with use of spindles and pinion stand comprises steps of mounting backup rolls in windows of stand housing and providing constant level of generatrix of barrel of lower backup roll, for example by means of gaskets placed between chocks of lower backup roll and bases of windows; mounting rolling rolls between backup rolls. Level of generatrix of barrel of lower backup roll is lower than level of lower roll axis of pinion stand by value H= (1.5D + H - W), where D - mean diameter of rolling roll, h - gap between working rolls at rolling, W - intercenter spacing between rolls of pinion stand. EFFECT: lowered skewing angles of drive spindles, enhanced operation conditions of spindles and shafts of rolling rolls. 1 dwg
