Zusammenfassung:FIELD: tunnel construction, in particular, construction of tunnels by shield method, more specifically, construction of box-section pedestrian tunnels, tunnels for special purposes by method of forcing through. SUBSTANCE: tunneling shield complex for construction of box-section tunnels by forcing-through method includes rectangular shield with face working member in the form of twin augers provided with cutters. Twin augers have horizontal axes of rotation and with oncoming helical ribs transporting worked ground to shield axis. Augers are arranged in rows over the entire cross-section of shield body. Vertical ground shearer is installed along shield vertical axis between auger ends. End parts of augers equalling 0.2-0.4 of auger length are made with double-start thread. Total length of augers of one row amounts to 0.80-0.95 of width of shield body cross-section. Control of shield and its motion relative to telescopic link connected with forced-through lining are performed by one group of hydraulic cylinders. Face part of shield body is separated from the other part of the body by sealed partition, and during operation is filled with compacted ground which holds the face from caving.
