Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: methods of thermoplastic deformation of metals; mechanical engineering; repair of machines for restoration of plunger pairs. SUBSTANCE: method includes heating of plunger pair barrel by high-frequency currents and hardening in cooled split spring-loaded matrix at taper angle of outer surface of 10 to 30 deg. Inner cylindrical surface of matrix has groove at level of mounting seat of plunger barrel whose height is equal to size of mounting seat. Parts of matrix are made from material whose thermal expansion coefficient is lesser than that of restored plunger barrel. Outer and inner cylindrical barrels of split matrix are split in form with longitudinal cut, 0.5 to 1.5 mm wide. End face of inner cylindrical barrel is rounded-off at radius of 0.5 to 1.5 mm.
