CHAMBER FOR INJECTING AND RECEIVING FLOW TOOLS IN OPERATION OF PIPE LINES

FIELD: operation of mains; gas and oil industries; equipment for injecting and receiving flaw detectors and other flow tools. SUBSTANCE: chamber includes adapter, housing and end seal whose hinged cover is provided with swivel unit and mechanism for tightly locking the cover. length of chamber ranges from 3.0 to 16.0 of diameter of adapter. Hinged cover is connected with swivel unit by means of guide; swivel unit is provided with devices for accurate control of cover position. Cover is mounted for safe horizontal motion and complete removal of it from flow tools reeving and receiving zone. Mechanism for tightly locking the cover on body of seal is made in form of articulated swivel jaws with profiled clamping locking members and helical clamping retainer locking the jaws in closed position. Jaws are mounted on housing before seal for gripping and tightly locking mating locking profiled members fitted on cover and housing of chamber after clamping them together. EFFECT: reduced usage of metals; enhanced operational reliability. 3 cl, 7 dwg
