Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes process for recovering 1,4-dichlorobutene-2 from mixture of C4 chlorohydrocarbons prepared by liquid phase chlorination of butadiene. Mixture of C4 dichlorobutenes comprising substantially dichlorobutenes and trichlorobutenes is subjected to selective aqueous alkali dehydrochlorination with 30-46% aqueous NaOH at 13-20 C in ethyl chloride using catalyst system consisting of trialkyl-1-chlorobuten-2-yl ammonium chloride and alcoholic component which includes C1-C4 alcohol, or benzyl alcohol, or 1,4-butenediol. Catalyst system is prepared directly in admixture with C4- chlorohydrocarbons to be dehydrochlorinated.
