SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises preparing 2-methyl-5-[di-(trifluoromethyl)oxymethyl] furan using as hexafluoropropylene oxide as original material which is first passed through column filled with aluminium oxide at 90-100 C. Gases flowing out of column are condensed with 2-methylfuran at temperatures form -5 to +25 C. At 1.0: 1.5 preferably 1.0:1.2 ratio of original components, excess amount of 2-methylfuran makes it possible to reduce content of by-products which affect antimicrobic activity.
