SUBSTANCE: finely dispersed component comprises finely ground periclase containing material, powdery phenol binder and antioxidant in (65-75): (15-20):(10-15) ratio. Further operations are as follows: periclase containing material having 3-1 mm fractions is first mixed with liquid binder and then with periclase containing material having 1-0 mm fractions and with carbon component, and finely dispersed component is thereafter added to the resulting mixture. EFFECT: reduced fire hazard of simplified process and greater strength of periclase-carbon refractories. 3 tbln
