Gas is cleaned in presence of catalyst containing 0.1-0.9% manganese oxide, or 0.0001-0.85% copper oxide, or 0.02-0.75% chromium oxide on metal carrier or a catalytic composition containing mixture of metal oxides chosen from the group including copper, manganese, and chromium oxides applied onto carrier in amount 0.0003-0.96%.
