Said compound is prepared by reacting benzylidene methylamine with sulfur dioxide and diethylamine in ethyl alcohol in the presence of 5 mole % triethylbenzylammonium chloride followed by addition of water for 14-16 minutes at 40-50 C. Yield is 91.4+-0.5 %. Empirical formula is . The claimed compound has stable bactericidal and chlamydiostatic activities at concentration in solvent of 10-100 mg/ml directly in vitro and aerosol form at concentration of 1.5-15 mg/l in air.
