Zusammenfassung:	FIELD: protection of piping systems. SUBSTANCE: device for dampening hydraulic impacts includes flow-through housing brought into communication with pipe line being protected with the following components arranged in it coaxially: nozzle and diffuser and confuser connected in series, as well as auxiliary reservoir connected with housing and provided with float for interaction with through hole. Nozzle is connected to auxiliary reservoir and is arranged in diffuser which is split; diffuser consists of two articulated spring-loaded parts; it is provided with control mechanism made in form of swivel member of aerodynamic profile directed along flow and provided with two stops for action on above-mentioned parts of diffuser in direction opposite to action of springs.
