SUBSTANCE: method consists in decationization of non-calcined beta-zeolite in tetraethyl ammonium- $$$-form at pH 10-12, decationization of ZSM-5 or ZSM-12 zeolites at pH 5-9, mixing of decationized zeolites with binding agent, drying and calcination of thus prepared carrier in air flow, and applying onto it active components together with chlorine at Cl/Pt (and/or Pd) atomic ratio 2.0-30.0. Catalyst is then dried and calcined in dry air flow to residual moisture content 20-400 ppm. EFFECT: improved catalytic activity. 1 tbl
