Zusammenfassung: | FIELD: chemical power supplies. SUBSTANCE: storage cell has case built up of two semi-spherical shells with flanges and cylindrical spacers welded together as well as set of plates installed in case. Two semi-spherical shells are provided, in addition, with cylindrical spacers that have internal annular slots forming closed cavity in vicinity of welded joint and with sealing gasket fitted at mating surface of additional cylindrical spacers, as well as with collars for bracing two parts of case together. Pipe union welded into one of additional cylindrical spacers on its internal side carries gas vent tube providing communication between closed cavity and service neck on cell case. Cell assembly process includes installation of set of plates into case, joining of case parts and their fusion welding together at the same time evacuating the case. Set of plates is placed in vessel filled with inert gas and after case parts are joined together, weld is hermetically sealed from internal cavity of case; the latter is evacuated to pressure of mm Hg; fusion welding of case parts is made while maintaining mentioned vacuum pressure.
