Zusammenfassung:FIELD: public gas- discharge TV screens. SUBSTANCE: display elements of gas- discharge indicator have parallel co-planar electrodes and address electrodes which are perpendicular to former. Corresponding method involves generation and application of tuning and discharge- keeping pulses and next clearing pulses in preparation mode to indicator electrode, generation and application of scanning pulses to selective indicator electrodes in addressing mode, generation and application of control pulses to address electrodes and of discharge- keeping pulses to indicator electrodes in indication mode. In preparation mode of shared indicator electrodes method involves application of preparation pulse of negative polarity which amplitude is equal to amplitude of scanning pulses. Simultaneously method involves application of positive discharge-keeping pulse to selective indicator electrodes. In addressing mode method involves keeping at shared indicator electrodes voltage which is in range of amplitude of discharge-keeping pulse. Moment of application of this voltage is simultaneous with edge of positive clearing pulse which is applied to selective indicator electrodes in preparation mode.
