Zusammenfassung: | In the device suitable for using water lacquer or any other similarly conductive coating material, the paint particles are sprayed off the earthed spraying edge of a bell-type atomizer (2) and charged up in the corona discharge region of outer electrodes (10) which are inserted in a mounting arrangement (11, 12, 15) made of insulating material. Potential control means in the form of expediently chosen insulating materials used in the mounting arrangement (11, 12, 15) and/or in the atomizer housing (4) make it possible to approximate the radial potential pattern between the atomizer housing (4, 6) and the outer electrodes (10) to the radial potential distribution of the sprayed material. According to another aspect of the invention, the insulating material of at least one part (4, 11, 15) of the device consists of a fluorinated hydrocarbon such as PTFE. Both measures reduce the risk of self-coating of the device. |
