Zusammenfassung:	A device for monitoring a constructional element (1), which is subjected to wear is specified, consisting, for example, of a brake lining. A sensor (4) which is inserted into the constructional element (1) and contains an electrical lead (5) is used for indicating a minimum wall thickness of the constructional element (1). The lead (5) is resistant to high temperatures and is designed as a coaxial lead with an outer conductor closed in a tubular manner. It is arranged in a bent manner in the sensor (4). The outer conductor of the lead (5) rests in the region of the end surface (9) of the sensor (4), which projects into the constructional element (1). The outer conductor is preferably corrugated at right angles to the lead direction.
