Predmetni pronalazak se odnosi na supstituisane ksantine opšte formule (I), u kojoj su R1 do R4 definisani kao u zahtevu 1, na njihove stereoizomere, njihove smeše, njihove prodrage i njihove soli, koje imaju vredna farmakološka svojstva, a naročito inhibitorno dejstvo na aktivnost enzima dipeptidilpeptidaze-IV.
