Zusammenfassung:	A sound insulating putty contains (all wt.%): 53.5-56.5 aq. dispersion of styrene-maleic-acrylate resin (approx. 50% solids), prepd. by free radical emulsion copolymerisation of the following monomeric mixts. 20-30 styrene, 10-20, 2 ethyl-hexyl-maleate, 4-7 acrylic acid in the presence of a surfactant mixt. of 6-8 succinic-acid- nonylphenol-ethyoxylate (6 mls. ethylene-oxide), 0.5-1 nonylphenol-ethoxylate (16 mols. ethylene-oxide) and 0.3-0.5 potassium-persulphate catalyst, 1-2 dodecyl-mercaptan chain transfer agent, 1.5-3.5 ammonia soln. (25%), 10-20 asbestos, 20-35 mica. Mixing of ingredients follows above sequence.
