SELECTIVE EXTRACT OF EPILOBIUM HIRSUTUM L. AERIAL PARTS WITH EFFECT OF ENHANCING THE ANTI-TUMOR ACTIVITY OF 5-FLUOROURACIL

The invention relates to a process for preparing a standardized selective extract of Epilobium hirsutum L. with anti-tumor activity when applied as such and with effect of enhancing the anti-tumor activity of 5-fluorouracil in tumor cell lines of murine malignant melanoma B16F10. According to the invention, the process consists of the following steps: extraction of the plant material consisting of the aerial part of hairy willow herb (Epilobium hirsutum L. herba) with ethanol 70% (v/v), at an extraction ratio of 1:15, for 1 h, at reflux, separation of the plant material by filtration, dosing the content as total polyphenols (GAE) per ml of extract, concentrating the solution at reduced pressure up to the dry extract state and repeating in ethanol 40% (v/v), to result in a standardized selective extract with a content of total polyphenols of 5 mg GAE/ml of extract, free of toxicity, i.e. cytotoxicity, upon normal cells. Invenţia se referă la un procedeu de obţinere a unui extract selectiv, standardizat de Epilobium hirsutum L. cu activitate antitumorală în aplicare singulară, respectiv, de potenţare a activităţii antitumorale a 5-fluorouracil pe linii celulare tumorale de melanom malign murin B16F10. Procedeul, conform invenţiei, constă în etapele: extracţia materialului vegetal constând din partea aeriană de pufuliţă cu flori mici (Epilobium hirsutum L. herba) cu alcool etilic 70%, (v/v) în raport de extracţie 1:15, timp de 1 h, la reflux, separarea materialului vegetal prin filtrare, dozarea conţinutului în polifenoli totali (GAE) per ml extract, concentrarea soluţiei la presiune redusă până la stadiul de extract uscat cu reluare în etanol 40% (v/v), rezultând un extract selectiv, standardizat lipsit de toxicitate,respectiv, citotoxicitate asupra celulelor normale, având un conţinut în polifenoli totali de 5 mg GAE/ml extract.
