Biofiltrul, conform invenţiei, este compus dintr-un modul de introducere a apei (24), un modul de aerare (17), un modul intermediar (15), un modul de fază staţionară (13), o virolă prelungitoare (10), modulele fiind multifuncţionale şi având o formă inelară, strânse laolaltă prin două fălci de strângere (8, 26) racordate la cuple cu bile în interiorul unei carcase deschise tubulare, iar etanşarea modulelor realizându-se cu ajutorul unor garnituri din material polimeric interpuse, comprimate sub acţiunea unei singure forţe axiale aplicate cu ajutorul unuia sau mai multor arcuri sau al unui burduf pneumatic. |
