Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a system and a method for managing and tracking municipal waste. According to the invention, the system comprises a component for data collection responsible for recording data coming from field equipments such as RFID readers, GPS tracking systems, a component for data processing and provision, which comprises the central database and the whole processing and computing logic, and an user interface component. The claimed method comprises a series of steps integrated in several main modules, namely: data collecting module, managing modules and report generating module. Invenţia se referă la un sistem şi o metodă pentru gestionarea şi urmărirea deşeurilor municipale. Sistemul, conform invenţiei, include o componentă de colectare a datelor, responsabilă pentru înregistrarea datelor provenind de la echipamente de teren, cum ar fi cititoare RFID, sisteme de urmărire GPS, o componentă de prelucrare şi furnizare a datelor, care conţine baza de date centrală şi întreaga logică de prelucrare şi calcul, şi o componentă de interfaţă utilizator. Metoda, conform invenţiei, include o serie de paşi integraţi în mai multe module principale, şi anume: modul de colectare a datelor, module de gestionare şi modul de generare de rapoarte.
