Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a process for preparing a copolymer based on chitosan modified with poly(benzofurane-co-arylacetic acid), with applications in medical, pharmaceutical and environment protection field. According to the invention, the process comprises the reaction of opening the lactone ring in the structure of poly(benzofurane-co-arylacetic acid) by the free amino group in the chitosan structure, upon reflux, without catalyst addition, for 48 h, to result in a modified copolymer as conglomerates with rough heterogeneous surface, which is biodegradable, bioactive, biocompatible, suitable for covalent bonds of various molecules.
