Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to a geothermal modular heat exchanger with variable geometry which is a heat exchanger where the ground is integrated as a cold source in heating/air-conditioning installations provided with heat pumps, meant for low- or medium-depth heat sources. According to the invention, the geothermal heat exchanger consists of serially-connected ring-shaped modular elements of constant diameter and variable surface, embedded within the heat storage apparatus, where the modules may be made in two versions: a. one version of rectangular cross-section, having constant width and variable height (2), made of rolled sheet metal (3, 4), the heating medium circulating inside each module through baffle plates, in some vertical channels (5) of constant cross-section, which provides it with a uniform hydraulic regime, irrespective of the module height, and b. another version made of pipe bundles of constant diameter and variable height (2), interconnected by means of ring-shaped collector compartmented distributors (3, 4) providing circulation with baffle plates, the distribution of the heating medium between the inlet and outlet sections of each module being symmetrical, the temperature of the heating medium at a module inlet being equal with the temperature at the outlet of the previous module, where, as a consequence of the heat exchange with the ground, the average temperature of the heating medium in successive modules shows a linear variation between the values of the inlet temperatures and the outlet temperatures, the heating medium temperature being lowered or increased, as the case may be, in a uniform manner, in proportion with the transfer surface of each module, the heat flow released/absorbed by each module being constant, due to the transfer surface dimensioned in inverse ratio to the average temperature of the heating medium, the equality of heat flows ensuring a uniform stress upon the earth mass, which is the main characteristic of the proposed apparatus.
