DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING ROLLER CHAIN LINK PLATES

The invention relates to a device used for pressing roller chain bolts in order to mount the link plates and to a method for mounting the same. According to the invention, the device consists of a press () with a base plate () supporting a rotary plate (), with four working points for each chain size type, each working point () having a body () provided with a channel () wherein there is mounted a mobile assembly with two lower rods () on which the chain ends and the link plates are mounted, and the pressing rods () are mounted inside a body () and they are actuated by the die of the press (). As claimed by the invention, the method consists in selecting the working point adequate to the chain size type, introducing and positioning the joining elements on the lower rods (), preliminarily pressing the bolts into the link plate () with an accessory (), positioning the second link plate on the lower rods, over the chain ends, actuating the press handle and pressing the bolts.
